Annie Laurie

Last week I decided to go fog chasing. You may wonder what on earth fog chasing is. It's where a mad  photographer gets it into her head that while she can see fog, there are pictures to be taken that could end up being somewhat poetic....hopefully....
So, after packing my poor child into her car seat ( once again ) I went driving to find something that spoke to me. Unfortunately, Id left it a wee bit late, ok, a lot too late, to capture anything remotely mystical .... HANG ON!
Have I told you who I happened to meet on the road side, while I was scrounging??
A Lady. Yep. AND she has been to the moon. You can't get more mystical and interesting than that, can you. AND, wait for it, she has even written a book. ( you can find it here http://www.amazon.com/The-Mad-Thing-1-ebook/dp/B005HDJ9NY/ref=sr_1_1?s=digital-text&ie=UTF8&qid=1314589346&sr=1-1 )
No matter that this lady is stuck in a dog's body. Thats never stopped her telling her wonderful owner, Kym Afford ( who happens to be a fantastic artist ) = ( Ahh, the people you meet! ) all about her adventures and using her imagination. (Here is his page if you want to have a peek at his fab work http://kdafford.com/. )
Anyway, I have some photos of Annie to share instead. Not the landscapeish images I thought I would capture, but something/one just as interesting and wonderful!

Panoramic golden foggy morning.

I finally got around to stitching up the 10 photos I took of this foggy valley. I love the result! It's a pity I can't share the chill and the soggy shoes, the sounds of birds waking up and the awe....

Golden, foggy morning!

Sometimes, not very often, but Sometimes I don't mind when my daughter wakes me up nice and early, just as the sky starts to lighten.
When I looked outside, and peered down into the valley below our house, I saw it was covered in a blanket of fog, with the sun just peeking over the horizon to welcome a gorgeous, glistening, beautiful morning.
So, I quickly threw some clothes on, grabbed a milk drink for Gisele, bundled her up and hopped into the car, driving to where I thought I might be able to take some nice photos. I don't usually take landscape shots, it's just not really my thing. But when everything is all misty, and secretive, glistening and chill, there is that special feeling which I just wanted to try and capture,
the breaking of a new day.

That third "child" in our family!

Every family that has pets has one of them, that significant "other" child, who can't tell the difference between the animal kingdom and human land. And where they are supposed to sit in the realms. This one believes, quite fervently, that she belongs in our world, and there she has decided to stay. Forever. What a mutt. We adore her, though, don't know why, considering the stuff she gets up to, but, as with any child, you still love them, don't you.....

Big Doggie Smiles!

...and this one says it all, her nose is into EVERYTHING!!!

Blue dress.

A couple of months ago, we finally were able to pave our very steep driveway, and while my husband was busily working, I was happily snapping those rare moments when my daughter is actually clean, tidy, and keeping a pretty hair band on her head!

I think, my darling girl, that you happen to be the most beautiful little 18month old in the world.... Whoever said mothers are biased???

My boy and girl.

My little boy, growing up so very, very fast. With all the spirit and beauty a parent could hope for, strong, courageous, willing and helpful. He is a quiet, gentle sort of soul.

And our beautiful daughter. Full of beans, getting into everything, and keeping me on my toes! And the way she kisses, with her lips all puckered up, totally adorable!

A Winters Day

Today was wet. Wet, wet and more wet. Not that fantastic rain that pours down, and makes being wet worth while, but that light, soft stuff, that drizzles constantly, and doesn't let up. After being stuck inside for most of the day, I decided I need something to do! So we went to the road, nearby, and I let my daughter and son play in the puddles. ....Well, not quite, but they did have fun together. And I got a few photos to play with at home, which is one of the reasons we went out in the first place. We soon had to leave, as it started to rain quite heavily, but not before I captured my daughters delight!

There is nothing quite like being a parent. To make you grow, feel and love. The very, very best part of my life.

So, here I am, on the very first day of blogging. I want to share some of my work here, with you, to give you a chance to see the sort of photography I am doing, and also to expand myself as a photographer, hopefully with some positive advice and feedback!
I absolutely love taking photos. I also love looking at other peoples photos!  I'm a bit of a photography junkie at the moment, and it makes me feel like I am alive again.

Here are some images of a wonderful family, and their gorgeous girls!

Miss A is only 6 weeks old, look at those scrummy, pinchable cheeks!

And Miss E is nearly 6! Cheeky, lovely, full of fun and mischief, everything a little girl should be!

A beautiful Family!
